Starting in the summer of 2023, I began seeing clients in-person at an office in Olney, Maryland. This office is the home of Empowering You, LLC and is host to a wonderful group of therapists and counselors practicing with specialties in eating disorders, depression, anxiety and much more. This office is conveniently located just off of Route 97 (Georgia Ave.) and not too far from Route 108 making it an easy drive from surrounding communities such as Laytonsville, Burtonsville, Damascus, Gaithersburg, Rockville and many more.
What can you expect?
Parking and Entrance
When you arrive at Olandwood Court off of Georgia Ave, you will make your first right in the parking lot. There will be numerous spots right in front of the 3401 building. Some of these spots are marked as “Visitor Parking” and are typically available. If the spots are full, there is overflow parking on the left side of Olandwood Court. The 3401 building sits all the way closest to Georgia Ave.
At the front door for 3401, you will find a door that allows you access to the second-floor suites which include Empowering You as well as a financial advisor. Once you open the door, you will see a flight of stairs that takes you to the second floor. At the top of the stairs, you will see our door immediately on your left. Welcome.
Waiting Room & Refreshments
Once you come inside, you will see a sitting area with a few seating options. There is also a water cooler on your far right that also offers some hot tea options. Help yourself! Once in the waiting area, you will find the restroom as well to the right of the main door. If you arrive a few minutes early, check out the positive affirmations and post-its left by other clients in the office and feel free to add one of your own!
Offices
Empowering You has four different offices available for its practitioners. Hanging on each door, you will see a removable sign designating who is using each office that day. Each office is furnished with at least a comfortable couch and addition chair as well as a desk. Just outside of each office door is a sound machine that will provide some background noise in the waiting area giving us some added privacy.
New Client Paperwork & Appointment Reminders
For this office, as well as my Olney location, I use SimplePractice which is a secure platform used by therapist and dietitians for handling HIPAA information. I will ask you for an email address when setting you up as a new client so that SimplePractice can email you a link that allows you to sign all the new client paperwork electronically. You will have the option to print any or all these documents at your home through this portal. Once you are set up in the portal, you will also receive either email or text appointment reminders. If these become too frequent or annoying, you do have the option to decline them at any point. You will also receive invoices and superbills for your insurance company through SimplePractice. This platform does allow you to store a credit card for session payment however I also give clients the option to pay using Zelle if they prefer. They would simply enter the Ayala Nutrition phone number (301-820-8848) in the Zelle app to send their payment.
