General Nutrition and Balanced Eating

Do you ever feel like you don’t know what you should and shouldn’t be eating? Are you overwhelmed with diet-culture talk and overwhelmed with making meal choices? Do you just want to make sure you’re eating a balanced diet? I’m here to help. Many clients, like me, did not receive helpful nutrition education in high school. I went off to college thinking a box of mac and cheese must be a decent dinner since it filled me.

I love working with clients at their “starting from scratch” for nutritional education. We can review basics of balanced eating, how to instill principles of Intuitive Eating and how to eat mindfully. I take a non-diet approach to eating. I do not promote restricting anything (unless there’s a food allergy involved). I believe all foods are fine in moderation and work with clients to find their nutritional needs from the clues provided by their own body. Throughout these appointments, we will be covering topics that go together with balanced nutrition such as hydration, hunger/fullness cues, body movement and many more.

Frequency of Visits: To review the many facets of balanced, healthy eating, I typically find at least 4-6 visits are necessary. I find that clients get more out of these appointments if they are closer together and they can build on each other. I do offer a bulk discount for clients that wish to purchase four or more appointments to start.

Not sure if face-to-face sessions are a good fit for you? Check out the details of an online nutrition course that I created that focuses on the basics of balanced, healthy eating called Your Guide to Sustainable Nutrition. If you’re still not sure, check out my post where I discuss the benefits of meeting with a dietitian versus a nutrition course here.
