Starting in March of 2024, I began using office space here in Frederick, MD at TherapyHive Frederick. The office is located in a beautifully redone building on West Patrick St in downtown Frederick. Just minutes from most areas in Frederick, this office is also conveniently located close to interstates 70 and 270 as well as route 15 for those coming from Hagerstown, Montgomery County or Columbia.
What can you expect?
Parking and Entrance
If you will be driving to this location, there is metered parking on West Patrick Street right in front of the building that is $1 per hour. You can pay using change or by downloading the meter’s app. If you’re like me and don’t like to pay for parking, there is also regular street parking on College Ave as well as other side streets just a short walk from the office.
At the entrance, you will find several steps to get up to the front door. If you need a more accessible entrance, please let me know as there is another entrance around that back that can be utilized if I know in advance. For the front door, you will find a digital keypad (not shown in the photo here). Once you touch the top of the black pad, a set of numbers will come up, you will enter the 4-digit passcode that I have given you followed by the green “check” at the bottom right. You will hear the deadbolt disengage and you will be able to enter the building.
Waiting Room & Refreshments
When you first come in, you will find two waiting areas. The first waiting area has a couch and chair, some magazines for reading as well as business cards of all the practitioners in the building. If you walk through to the second waiting area, you will find a mini-fridge with seltzer waters, a water cooler as well as fixings for tea. Make yourself at home.
Offices
There is a possibility of four different offices that we might meet in. If you are not good with stairs, please let me know so that I can be sure to reserve the first-floor office! Each office includes at least one couch and one chair and are beautifully decorated by the owner of TherapyHive Frederick. Each office also has a sound machine outside of the door that will be turned on during our appointment for added privacy.
There is a bathroom available on the second floor to the left of the stairs.
New Client Paperwork and Appointment Reminders
For this office, as well as my Olney location, I use SimplePractice which is a secure platform used by therapist and dietitians for handling HIPAA information. I will ask you for an email address when setting you up as a new client so that SimplePractice can email you a link that allows you to sign all the new client paperwork electronically. You will have the option to print any or all these documents at your home through this portal. Once you are set up in the portal, you will also receive either email or text appointment reminders. If these become too frequent or annoying, you do have the option to decline them at any point. You will also receive invoices and superbills for your insurance company through SimplePractice. This platform does allow you to store a credit card for session payment however I also give clients the option to pay using Zelle if they prefer. They would simply enter the Ayala Nutrition phone number (301-820-8848) in the Zelle app to send their payment.
